Happy Good Friday, everyone. In my world, every Friday is pretty good! To celebrate Easter weekend, I thought I’d share with you some houses in San Francisco that remind me of Easter Eggs.
Most homes in San Francisco have rather subdued paint jobs, and even those Victorians and Edwardians that have plenty of colors tend to have palettes that are on the “earthy” side. So while I’ve been touring San Francisco homes for sale this week, I’ve kept my eye out for houses that were particularly vibrant and daring when it came to color choice. No wilting violets in this selection!

The homes that I’ve photographed are all over San Francisco, from the NOPA (North of Panhandle Area) neighborhood to Bernal Heights, with the north end of town (like the Marina and Pacific Heights) being sadly absent from the Easter Egg parade of San Francisco homes. And to protect the dignity of Bernal Heights, I’m not going to mention how many of these homes came from there.
I had originally taken the pictures with the HDR settings of my iPhone 4, but iPhoto went and deleted a bunch of the pictures, leaving only the thumbnails behind, which was pretty annoying. However, I was so mentally invested in the idea by then that I took some time today to drive around again and re-take the pictures with my Canon EOS 40D. I shot all of the images in RAW format, and then cleaned them up in Adobe Lightroom. As annoying as taking the pictures twice was, I think in the end the quality is much better. I hope that you enjoy these homes in San Francisco that are crazy bright and colorful like an Easter Egg!
Happy Easter weekend everyone, if you feel like I’ve missed a great house that should be a part of this collection let me know, and I’ll try and get out and snap a picture of it.

There is a bright orange house next to a bright green house on 22nd St at Florida.
You can’t possibly leave out this gem on Utah St:

Hard to beat a neon green house with bright orange trim!
Michael and Peter –
Those are both great catches, I cruised by this morning and snapped some photos and added them to the gallery.
Thanks for the tips!
Cheers,
Matt
