Off the Grid at 5th and Minna

Real estate season is back in full swing, which meant that yesterday’s Zephyr office tour had 24 new listings to preview. While there is no way to possibly visit all 24 properties in 3 hours, we did preview a big chunk of them and managed to work up a big appetite in the process. After tour we headed over to Off the Grid at 5th and Minna. Here’s a quick video:

One of the things I love about living in San Francisco is the food and eating culture. Events like Off the Grid are a really awesome, quick, and delicious way to take advantage of the love this city has for fresh, tasty, locally-grown, sustainable, organic, **insert buzzword here**, food. If you haven’t visited them at one of their many locations throughout the city – here’s their calendar – I highly encourage you to do so. You’ll have a great time and fill up on some amazing food.

I know you probably really don’t care what I ate for lunch yesterday, which is why I’m going to tell you anyway. After salivating as I walked up and down Minna I finally settled on the food cart with the longest line and got myself a pork banh mi from Little Green Cyclo. The sandwich was absolutely awesome, I ate every last bite of it. Just as good (perhaps even better) were the sweet potato tater tots with mango mint dipping sauce. I couldn’t finish them all, but that wasn’t for lack of trying.

As for Ms. Jackson, she settled on the cornflake crusted fried chicken sandwich from the adorable Chef Ryan Scott of 3-Sum Eats. There was also a Macaroni and Cheese spring roll with a cheese dipping sauce.

I was planning on working all these calories off at the pool yesterday evening, which didn’t happen… so I should probably wrap this post up and get myself to the gym.
